ABOUT

March 26th of this year I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. It threw me for a loop as I had to spend about a month in the hospital. 2.5 weeks in the ICU where I had to fight to keep my life. I had to learn to walk, and work to get my stomach started after surgery. In the hospital I would draw when I could, and spend time in prayer to center myself. Art was the GOD given gift that has sustained me throughout my life. We all have ways to cope with the pain and I pray we stick to the ways that are positive and bring us joy. My goal is to inform the community we build not to only support but to learn more of some of the early signs that our body is shifting as well as the importance of monitoring our health. We won't stop as everyday is a fight and we put our ARTOVERPAIN. BE BLESSED!

THE FACTS:
Statistics state that an estimated 152,810 people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with colon cancer in 2024, and 53,010 will die from the disease according to the American Cancer Society.
PREVENTATIVE CARE:
The average age suggested for a colonoscopy is 45 years old. I can say that being a 37 year old male I may encourage you to get a colonoscopy much sooner. Some symptoms which I have experienced was discomfort, pain, issues with bleeding, and stool change.
